Chris Symanoskie, IRC Vice President, Investor Relations, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt As the Vice President of Investor Relations for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (NASDAQ: HMHC), Mr. Symanoskie leads the company’s proactive investor relations program and ESG disclosure efforts. Prior to joining Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2021, Mr. Symanoskie built the investor relations program of American Public Education, Inc. (NASDAQ: APEI), which has been ranked among the top IR programs by Investor Relations Magazine. After joining the company in 2007, Mr. Symanoskie shaped the communications strategy for APEI’s initial public offering, which was the NASDAQ’s second most successful domestic IPO of 2007. Among many initiatives, Mr. Symanoskie led APEI’s senior management team in development of its mission/vision and supported the executive team in its strategic planning and M&A process. Prior to joining APEI, Mr. Symanoskie led the investor relations and corporate communications program for Laureate Education, Inc. (NASDAQ: LAUR) – a higher education company with operations in over 16 countries. During his seven-year tenure, he successfully guided Laureate’s corporate and investor communications through a major corporate strategy shift and several complex acquisitions and divestitures. In addition, he was instrumental in the research, development and launch of the Laureate International Universities brand and visual identity. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Symanoskie was the Manager of Investor Relations for Strayer Education (NASDAQ: STRA), a post-secondary company with campus-based and online operations. As a continuous member of NIRI since 1998, Mr. Symanoskie is a NIRI Senior Roundtable member, passed the inaugural IRC examination, and served as Founding President of NIRI Baltimore Chapter from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Symanoskie holds an MBA from Strayer University (1999) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (1994) from Virginia Tech.
