The last two years have brought rapid, global changes to the investor relations world. Changes that COVID certainly accelerated. In addition, we have experienced the rise of passive investing and trading from computer algorithms which has led to greater volatility in the markets. ESG is also an important focus for all stakeholders and AI has created a world in which we are not only talking to humans but also machines. Investor frameworks have also progressed and activism is back. On the regulatory front, the SEC is continuing to evolve and establish more oversight and reporting. But what is next? It is important to consider how IR has changed recently and what this means for IROs as we prepare ourselves, our management teams and our Boards for what’s next. The future is here.
