Earnings calls have had the same format for years. You host a call, do a live Q&A and then move to 1-1 sessions. However, some companies are starting to switch things up. A group analyst call post the earnings call? That sounds nice. What about not even doing a call, just posting the remarks and hosting a live Q&A? As more companies begin to get creative with their earnings process, it’s time everyone starts thinking about customizing formats to best fit their own company and their analysts/investors needs. We’ll walk through best practices and also talk through structuring content to tackle the sentiment software, since many investors are using sentiment analysis running live while calls are going. Companies need to consider both how some formats and some phrases might be perceived.
Learning Objectives:
- Get a better understanding for best practices and what peers are doing
- Develop your own plan to discuss with management
- Understand how sentiment analysis software is being used
