David Erickson Vice President, Investor Relations, Edwards Lifesciences Corporation David Erickson joined NYSE-listed Edwards Lifesciences, an international medical device company, in 2000. Erickson was formerly Director, Investor Relations for NASDAQ-listed PacifiCare Health Systems, a $10 billion managed care company. Prior to his investor relations role at PacifiCare, Erickson was responsible for budgeting, financial analysis and Securities and Exchange Commission reporting. Erickson is an active member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and NIRI’s Senior Roundtable. He is a former member of NIRI’s National Board of Directors and served on NIRI’s Senior Roundtable Steering Committee and Ethics Council. Erickson is also president of NIRI's Orange County, California Chapter. In 2014, he was named a NIRI Fellow, which recognizes NIRI members who have distinguished themselves on the basis of their leadership, integrity and contributions to the IR profession. In conjunction with NIRI and the University of California, Irvine, Erickson helped establish a classroom-based certificate program in investor relations, which later was adapted to an online distance-learning format. Until 2012, he was the instructor for the “Introduction to Investor Relations” course in the program, and served on the program’s advisory committee. Erickson recently helped develop NIRI’s new certification program, the Investor Relations Charter, and currently serves on the Certification Scheme Committee. Erickson has been recognized by IR Magazine as one of the top investor relations officers among small and mid-cap companies, and by Institutional Investor magazine as one of the best investor relations officers among medical device companies. Erickson is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), where he received a bachelor of science degree in business administration, with a double major in Finance and Marketing, and a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in Finance. Currently, Erickson serves on the Advisory Boards of the CSULB Department of Finance and the Child Creativity Lab, an organization dedicated to promoting creativity through STEM-based educational programs and activities.
