ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investing continues to be on the rise. By some accounts, ESG investing has grown by more than 97 percent globally in the past 20 years. In dollar value, the number has gone from tens of billions to hundreds of trillions, and the number of investment funds has increased from 10s to 1000s. The issue has captured the spotlight even more so as governance teams that vote the proxy are increasingly using ESG in their decision-making process. But what exactly does ESG mean for the IR practitioner? How can you best position your company to be front footed from an ESG standpoint?
