A traditional one-on-one mentoring journey with a match-making approach of Mentors (Leaders) and Mentees (Achievers).
Leaders are accomplished senior NIRI members who are keen to share their experience and wisdom with future leaders in the investor relations community. Achievers are professionals newer to the IR profession, looking to grow in the profession and assume leadership roles.
Program Requirements
- The official program lasts around six months, however, the relationship between mentor and mentee can informally continue after the program has ended.
- All participants must have an active NIRI membership to enroll.
- Mentor/Mentee pairs must be willing to commit to the six-month timeframe and to engage with NIRI throughout the program timeline to provide feedback.
- Participants are encouraged to discuss a wide range of relevant topics, with a focus on areas that the achiever is looking to further develop.
- Pairs will meet virtually, but in-person meetings are certainly encouraged if schedules and location permit.
- Mentees are expected to come to each meeting with discussion topics or questions. Mentors may also suggest discussion topics.
- If a mentor and/or a mentee feels they are not getting the most out of the program, NIRI will help facilitate a new pairing (based on availability).
