Mona Zeehandelaar has over 25 years of results oriented expertise in the financial services, professional services, health care and technology industries. She is a seasoned financial communications and investor relation executive who combines finance expertise with strong strategic thinking and knowledge of corporate governance. Her experience spans small to large cap companies and includes successful interaction, advice and counsel to executive management and boards of directors.
Mona joined Towers Perrin in 2008 as principal - investor relations. Towers Perrin is a professional services firm that helps organizations improve performance through effective people, risk and financial management. The firm provides innovative solutions in the areas of human capital strategy, program design and management, and in the areas of risk and capital management, reinsurance intermediary services and actuarial consulting.
From 2002 to December, 2007, Mona was senior vice president of investor relations and corporate communications for Radian, a global credit risk company. She was successful in managing Wall Street's and media's reactions to several major events, including Radian's first major insurance loss, rating agency downgrades, departure of the CEO and proposed merger (than break-up) of the company.
Her strong financial skills, her understanding of the investment community and corporate governance and her deep and recent crisis management experience addressing institutional investor and rating agency challenges resulting from the meltdown in the sub prime mortgage market have served her well.
Prior to Radian, Mona was head of investor relations for Safeguard, a technology company that benefited from the technology bubble of the late 1990s and then faced major declines in stock price. Managing investor relations and public relations during this tumultuous time developed Mona's crisis management skills.
Mona spent 15 years in increasingly responsible positions at CIGNA in both corporate staff and P&L positions where she executed a successful international investor relations program and improved the bottom line of two subsidiaries.
She currently serves as a director on the National Board of the National Investor Relations Institute and the American Associates of Ben Gurion University.
Mona graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics and a major in accounting, and was awarded her CPA certification.
