NIRI President and CEO Jeffrey D. Morgan Named to 2010 NACD Directorship 100

Significant Recognition Highlights Key Role of Investor Relations in Corporate Governance

Vienna, VA – The National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) today announced that NIRI president and CEO Jeffrey D. Morgan has been named to the 2010 NACD Directorship 100, a list recognizing the most influential people in corporate governance. The annual list compiled by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) is based on a survey of 15,000 public company directors and officers. Mr. Morgan was named to the “Governance Policy Makers” category.

According to the NACD, individuals in the "Regulators and Rule Makers" category received the most nominations this year, revealing a shift in the type of leader exerting the most influence on corporate governance. Honorees from among this category include President Barack Obama, Congressmen Christopher Dodd and Barney Frank, and SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro.

NIRI chairman Brad Wilks said, “We are delighted that Jeff is being acknowledged as an influential leader in corporate governance. We view this honor as a reflection of the growing awareness among corporate board members of the critical role that investor relations professionals play in governance. Throughout his tenure with NIRI, Jeff has been a tireless advocate for the investor relations profession and for its involvement in the governance process. During this period of profound regulatory change, Jeff will continue to play a critical role in supporting NIRI’s mission of education, information and advocacy on behalf of our members.”

The Directorship 100 recognizes influencers in all spheres of corporate governance. In addition to Directors, CEOs and Regulators and Rule Makers, categories include: Governance Policy Makers; the Media; Investors; Auditors; Compensation Consultants; Executive Recruiters; Corporate Governance Advisors; Corporate Secretaries, General Counsel and Corporate Governance Officers; Professors and Strategists, and the Hall of Fame.
